Pre-Production for final project

I decided to make my project about what brings me joy or peace during such stressful times. Taking time to take in what you have, or still have, has always been very important to keep me humble and grateful for the life I live. Even when I'm not in a mandatory quarantine, I spend the vast majority of my time in my room, as I appreciate my alone time immensely, and usually find joy and solace in my solitude. These pictures show some of the elements I wanted to showcase, like my bed, where I play all my video games, my makeup desk, my books, and my water fountain and candle. Without all of these things, I would be lost right now.

Final blog post

I have taken multiple classes online. This was the first time I had to take them involuntarily. Also the first time I've taken classes during a worldwide pandemic. Needless to say, I went through various stages of grief. First, I was upset that my life as I knew it was taken away so quickly, but then I felt guilty for feeling bad for myself, so that ended rather quickly. Then, I grew very bored and tired of having to care about things like homework and tests when the world around me was falling deeper and deeper into this pandemic. I had to find different ways to motivate myself, and I ultimately came to the conclusion that since this is my last semester, I don't want to ruin my GPA with laziness. So like every other student, I charged on, no matter how reluctantly and forced it felt.  This class has been a major relief compared to my other classes, where some have little to no communication with their students, or feel no sense of empathy for what their students are experi...

Who will you be interviewing?            My partner Jay.  What story are you going to tell?            We will be talking about when him and his father were evicted out of their home for the second time. He will talk about what he went through as a result.  What is the beginning, middle, and end of the story?           The beginning is when he was evicted, the middle is what he had to do because of it, and the end is how he has changed from the experience.  What larger themes does the story address?           It addresses the importance of friendship and not being afraid to lean on those who may not be related by blood, as well as overcoming what may seem to be the impossible.  Ten Questions  What led to the eviction?  Where did you go afterwards? Artist Statement

The media world is full of molds. Molds that aspiring writers, film makers, or any other type of creators are expected to fill, contrary to its perceived open, unique nature. We're expected to cater to everyone's desires, meaning the producers, directors, "higher ups", and audience, leaving out the most important subject: ourselves. I want my work to bend the molds into so many shapes that it ultimately breaks.  I’ve always had a fascination with television, and how much acting goes into broadcasting. I’ve spent my childhood looking for myself on TV, and always wondered why I never found her. My biggest inspirations have always been latin women on TV that uplift and give platforms to others, like Rosie Perez and Sunny Hostin (admittedly I also just love The View). When I find my place in TV, it will be my priority to create more opportunities for marginalized women, so no young girl will ever have to question her visibility ever again.   Words are a medium I cherish ...
